While we support flexible, remote-friendly ways of working, for this role we’re focusing on Sydney / Melbourne so we can best support our teams and keep collaboration flowing.
Some things to note:
- This role is a short-term engagement from 15th Feb - 24th April 2026 working full-time hours per week.
- This role includes out-of-hours and weekend work as required by the event schedule
- May include international travel
- You'll be expected to be present and engaged across all key production phases
- Flexibility and adaptability are essential
What you’d be doing in this role
We're looking for an experienced Videographer/Editor to join our team in the lead up to an exciting large-scale Canva event. This is a dynamic, hands-on role where you'll be responsible for capturing and editing high-quality video content that reflects Canva's brand.
You'll work closely with our production team to deliver exceptional video content from pre-production planning through to final delivery. This role requires flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to craft excellence, with work including out-of-hours and weekend coverage, and may include international travel.
At the moment this role is focussed on:
Video Production & Capture
- Videography based on Canva content briefs, ensuring the highest quality footage and creative approach - thinking outside the norm and presenting new and channel specific ideas.
- Operate camera, lighting and sound equipment professionally across various shoot settings.
- Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required, this is predominently in the lead up to big Canva events.
Creative Contribution
- Proactively contribute creative ideas and concepts for video content
- Collaborate with the creative and production team to develop innovative approaches that capture the energy and impact of the event
- Suggest solutions and creative problem-solving approaches during both production and post-production phases
- Bring fresh thinking to ensure video content is distinctive, engaging, and brand-aligned.
Editing & Post-Production
- Edit high-priority content to the highest standard, ensuring outputs are polished, impactful, and on-brand
- Drive post-production excellence, including when presented with tight turn arounds.
- Ensure all footage is properly ingested and organized according to established workflows and standards
- Work collaboratively with producers to meet deadlines and maintain quality throughout the editing process
You're probably a match if
- You have proven experience in videography and editing, with a solid portfolio including examples of storytelling, short form scroll stopping content as well as event based content.
- You have strong technical skills across camera operation, lighting, and audio capture
- Agile workflow approach with ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements
- You have a creative eye and proactive approach to storytelling
- You have the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Flexibility to work out-of-hours, weekends, and travel internationally as needed
- You’re professional reliability and strong follow-through on commitments
- You have a positive, solution-oriented attitude when challenges arise
