About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and driven Community Lead to build, grow, and engage Canva’s Creator, Education, and SMB communities, accelerating growth in South Korea. As part of the country marketing team, this position will own the end-to-end strategy and execution of community initiatives, working closely with global marketing, product, and content teams to amplify community voices and foster brand advocacy. The role will focus on developing impactful programs, events, and partnerships that strengthen Canva’s local presence and empower users across key verticals.
What you’ll do (responsibilities)
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to grow and expand Canva’s community programs in Korea across three key categories — Creators, Educators, and SMBs — while aligning goals and milestones with the overall market strategy.
- Establish, track, and analyze key performance metrics to evaluate the impact and success of community initiatives, identifying areas for growth and optimization.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners within the Canva Korea marketing team to amplify campaigns and initiatives across community networks.
- Plan, promote, and execute regular virtual and in-person events to showcase Canva’s evolving capabilities, share best practices, and deepen community engagement within each category.
- Proactively recruit and onboard new community members through targeted outreach strategies, expanding the reach and diversity of Canva’s user base.
- Grow, nurture, and inspire a nationwide network of brand advocates through the ‘Canvassador’ program, fostering strong relationships and community-driven initiatives.
- Identify and cultivate partnership opportunities with creative communities, educational organizations, and SMBs, driving collaborative growth and expanding Canva’s presence in Korea.
- Integrate community insights into marketing strategies, sharing user feedback and trends to help tailor campaigns that resonate with Korean audiences.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to co-create content, case studies, and success stories from community programs, amplifying Canva’s brand presence across various channels.
- Work closely with the Product and Content Creative teams to identify gaps in local template needs and activate creator communities.
Qualifications
What we're looking for
- 8+ years of experience in community and creator management or a related field.
- Proven track record of building and growing successful communities, driving engagement, and contributing to brand growth in Korea.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple initiatives effectively.
- Creative thinker with hands-on experience in content creation.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to deeply understand Canva’s audience and make data-driven decisions with confidence.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments, aligning key stakeholders and driving initiatives forward.
- Problem solver, proactive in identifying opportunities and continuously improving processes.
- Excellent communication skills—written, visual, and verbal—with the ability to manage complex and competing priorities.
- Strong relationship-building skills, managing both internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Strategic mindset, balancing long-term vision with immediate priorities.
- Self-starter with strong execution skills, quickly adapting to market trends and business needs.
- Full proficiency in English and Korean.
