Where and how you can work
Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

About the team
Canva’s Legal Operations team is a standalone ‘specialty’ within the broader legal team, supporting a global crew of over fifty lawyers, in close collaboration with the wider business. Our mission is to empower our stakeholders with the systems and processes to get their work done effectively – a mission that requires a strong sense of empathy, exceptional communications skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for all things legal ops and technology.
We’re powered by a mix of enterprise and legal-specific systems such as Ironclad, Brightflag, Jira, Workato, DocuSign, Slack and Google Workspace. It’s an impressive lineup, and we’re constantly striving to build upon and improve these systems through projects, fixes and features. Our sleeves are up, we celebrate our achievements, and there’s plenty more to do!
What you'll do
- Primary owner, administrator, workflow designer and support lead for Ironclad (our enterprise contract management system).
- Intake/matter management: support continuous improvement, metrics and dashboarding activities across Jira, Ironclad, Brightflag and other integrated systems.
- Brightflag eBilling: support a maturity scale-up and optimisation program to harness the full suite of Brightflag functionality, improving outside counsel engagement and spend metrics.
- Ad-hoc projects: lead or support ad-hoc projects from systems review to new vendor selection, and implementation projects.
- Systems training: build out a legal systems training program via our learning management system covering Ironclad, Jira, Google Shared Drives, Brightflag and other key systems.
You're probably a match if
- You have proven experience in a Legal Operations role, either in an in-house legal team, as a consultant, private practice or combination of these.
- You have hands-on build experience with document and workflow automation software (indicative examples might include Contract Express, Checkbox, Power Automate, Zapier, Ironclad etc).
- You have supported or led technology implementation projects, drawing on project management, change management, training and support skills.
- You’re experienced in manipulating, charting, visualising (e.g. Excel or Power BI) legal metrics, and creating relational databases using no-code tools (e.g. Airtable or similar).
- Legal practice as paralegal or solicitor (~1-3 years PQE) in a top or mid tier commercial law firm, or in-house legal team.
- Exceptional internal and stakeholder written and verbal communication skills e.g. writing internal project communications (launch and updates).
- Experienced in training delivery, support and knowledge base documentation e.g. in Confluence, intranet or similar.
