About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer – Controls & Electronics to drive the design, development, and commissioning of advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role is heavily focused on electronics, control systems, and automation software, while requiring a solid understanding of mechanical systems.
You will lead the creation of smart, integrated machines by designing control architectures, specifying sensors and actuators, and developing embedded and PLC-level software. You will collaborate across mechanical, software, and systems teams to deliver reliable, high-performance manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities
Controls & Electronics Design
- Design and implement control systems for advanced manufacturing equipment
- Select and specify electronic components including sensors, actuators, motors, drives, and controllers
- Develop embedded software/firmware and PLC programs for machine automation
- Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to deliver fully integrated solutions
- Design electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts
- Contribute to system architecture decisions, design reviews, and documentation
- Commission, test, and debug complex electromechanical systems
- Develop and implement machine safety systems in compliance with relevant standards
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and integration issues across multiple disciplines
- Support continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment performance and reliability
- Act as the go-to expert for controls, electronics, and automation within the team
- Establish engineering standards, best practices, and workflows for controls development
- Communicate complex technical information clearly to internal teams and stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or equivalent
- 7+ years’ experience in mechatronics, controls engineering, or automation, with emphasis on electronics and software
- Strong experience with PLC programming and motion control systems (servo drives, actuators, sensors)
- Electrical design experience: schematics, control panels, wiring diagrams
- Embedded systems programming skills (C/C++, Python) and familiarity with communication protocols (EtherCAT, Modbus, OPC-UA)
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems for cross-disciplinary collaboration
- Experience commissioning and troubleshooting complex electromechanical equipment
- Strong problem-solving, initiative, and communication skills
- Experience in semiconductor equipment, precision manufacturing, robotics, or industrial automation is highly desirable
- Experience with high-growth or startup environments
- Familiarity with simulation and control system tools (MATLAB/Simulink)
- Knowledge of machine safety standards (ISO 13849, IEC 62443)
