About the Role:
As a Senior Commercial Lead for SunDrive, you will play a key role in expanding our technology into the global semiconductor industry. Your work will help us build high-value partnerships that unlock new commercial opportunities and ensure our technology is positioned for global impact.
You’ll be responsible for identifying, shaping, and converting strategic commercial opportunities—particularly with semiconductor manufacturers and equipment partners. Your deep industry understanding will help us build trust with customers, map emerging opportunities (initially focused on panel-level plating, automation, and tooling), and tailor our value proposition to solve meaningful challenges.
In this role, you’ll work cross-functionally with our executive, technical, and product teams to align technology with market needs, and provide input into our commercial strategy. Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, you’ll be based in Europe (Southern Germany/Austria preferred or willing to travel here often) and also travel to the US and Asia to develop and manage key accounts, as required.
You will focus on:
- Identifying and building commercial relationships with key semiconductor manufacturers and equipment suppliers.
- Mapping high-impact use cases for SunDrive’s technology in panel-level plating, automation, and tooling.
- Developing tailored value propositions that solve customer challenges and unlock new revenue streams.
- Partnering with engineering and R&D teams to align product direction with market needs.
- Representing SunDrive externally at industry events, trade organisations, and partner meetings.
- Managing account plans, customer engagements, and deal execution from early conversations to close.
- Gathering market intelligence and feed insights into our commercial and product strategies.
- Supporting negotiation of licensing, collaboration, or partnership agreements.
- Providing technical and commercial support during RFQ/RFI processes.
We would love you to have:
- Significant experience in semiconductor manufacturing, capital equipment, or advanced materials (preferably with knowledge of substrate plating equipment or processes)
- A strong network within the global semiconductor ecosystem and familiarity with key market trends.
- Proven experience in business development, commercial strategy, or B2B partnerships.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling commercial value.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the confidence to build senior relationships.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with engineering and product teams.
- Fluency in English (other languages, such as German or Mandarin, are a plus).
- Willingness to travel regularly and work autonomously in a dynamic start-up environment.
Contractor position (daily rate negotiable depending on experience)
