The Role

We’re looking for a proactive Finance Manager to support our growth, drive operational excellence, and be a trusted partner across the business. As 2IC to the CFO, you will lead the development of systems, policies and processes that support our evolving needs.

This is an ideal role for someone who is system-savvy, process-minded, and enjoys building the foundations for scale while being comfortable with ambiguity and context-switching in a start-up environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • End to end finance responsibilities including leading the planning and monthly reporting process across the organisation working closing with the senior leadership team
  • Management of 2 team members plus overseas consultants
  • Lead and support strategic projects and commercial finance initiatives to drive business growth and efficiency.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with tax, corporate, and financial regulations, including BAS, PAYG, superannuation, and other statutory obligations predominantly in Australia, however there will also be exposure to the US and Europe.
  • Supervise overseas payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely processing across multiple jurisdictions and the preparation of Australian payroll
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with banking partners, ensuring effective treasury management and cashflow forecasting
  • Oversee statutory financial reporting in compliance with relevant accounting standards including management of the external audit function
  • Partnering with the supply chain team to monitor inventory levels and analyse variances
  • Maintain and strengthen the internal control environment ensuring financial processes are robust, compliant and scalable.
  • Lead and build a developing finance team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement

About You

  • CA qualified with 6+ years experience
  • Solid knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations
  • Proficiency in utilising ERP’s and intermediate-advanced MS Excel skills
  • Payroll experience (review or preparation)
  • Experience in an established organisation having seen what good looks like
  • Comfortable working with and implementing new systems and processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • Hands-on approach
  • A relationship builder and change enabler, within and outside of their discipline
