About Halter

At Halter, we’re on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly towards their next break? No quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a group of cattle walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionizing grazing with Halter. It's changing lives and transforming an industry. People join Halter to do meaningful work. By joining us you’ll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out-think, out-work and out-care. We’re committed to delivering real change in the world - this isn’t easy, and in truth, we love that it’s hard.

We’re backed to deliver on a mission that matters by Tier 1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab’s Peter Beck and Icehouse ventures.

We’re looking for a Employer Brand & Talent Marketing Lead to join our People & Performance team and build how Halter shows up to the world from a talent perspective.

We fundamentally believe that the speed, quality, and consistency of our hiring is one of the biggest drivers of company success. This role ensures we don’t rely on inbound alone — but proactively build a magnetic employer brand that attracts exceptional people globally.

As we scale rapidly, competition for top talent increases. This role is critical in ensuring we stand out — through compelling storytelling, high-impact events, and targeted talent campaigns — while staying true to what makes Halter unique.

This role will be based out of our Auckland HQ, with travel required. We’re office-first, because we believe proximity accelerates learning, decision-making, and impact.

About the Role

As a key member of the People & Performance team, you’ll own how we attract, engage, and inspire talent.

Reporting to the Head of Talent, you’ll sit at the intersection of Talent, Marketing, and Storytelling, responsible for everything that shapes first impressions of Halter as a place to work.

You’ll partner closely with Talent Partners, Global Marketing, and hiring leaders to translate hiring priorities into clear, compelling narratives and campaigns that generate high-quality pipeline.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building from zero to one, loves connecting brand to outcomes, and is motivated by turning storytelling into real hiring impact.

What Your Day Will Look Like

  • You’ll own how Halter shows up across all talent touchpoints, building a consistent and compelling voice across our careers site, social channels, email campaigns, and hiring campaigns. This includes creating high-quality written content that strengthens our EVP and positions Halter as a category-defining company to work for.

  • You’ll develop and execute a content and events strategy that drives high-quality candidate traffic and engagement. By understanding how top talent discovers and evaluates opportunities, you’ll ensure we are visible, relevant, and differentiated in the moments that matter.

  • You’ll lead our social media storytelling for talent, creating authentic, engaging content that builds awareness and community. Working closely with teams across the business, you’ll bring to life the people, product, and impact behind Halter in a way that resonates with exceptional candidates globally.

  • You’ll spend time with our customers and team, to gather real insights and translate them into compelling case studies, user stories, and narratives. These stories will form the backbone of how we communicate our mission and impact to prospective hires.

  • You’ll support and lead events as a core talent attraction channel, from industry events to university partnerships and targeted meetups. You’ll ensure every event is intentional, well-executed, and designed to generate meaningful engagement and pipeline.

  • You’ll bring an analytical mindset to your work, understanding how your efforts influence the talent funnel from awareness through to hire. You’ll continuously track performance, test new approaches, and optimise campaigns to improve engagement, conversion, and pipeline quality.

  • You’ll collaborate closely across Talent, Product, Sales, Customer, and Global Marketing teams to deliver high-impact campaigns and initiatives, adapting quickly as priorities evolve in a fast-moving environment.

What Success Looks Like

  • Halter is recognised as a destination company for top talent in our key markets

  • Our EVP is clear, differentiated, and consistently communicated across all channels

  • Content and campaigns drive high-quality, engaged candidate pipelines

  • Events consistently translate into meaningful talent engagement and hiring outcomes

  • Our social presence builds community, awareness, and inbound interest from exceptional people

  • We continuously improve how we attract talent through data, experimentation, and iteration

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience in marketing, content, employer branding, or talent attraction

  • Strong copywriting and storytelling skills — you know how to make something compelling, not just correct

  • Experience running campaigns, events, or social channels with clear outcomes

  • A strong understanding of how brand connects to pipeline, engagement, and conversion

  • Comfortable using tools across marketing techstacks

  • A thoughtful approach to leveraging AI to scale content and improve efficiency

  • Highly proactive, with the ability to own and execute initiatives end-to-end

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong sense of ownership

Why this role matters

This role is the difference between hiring that relies on inbound and hiring that consistently attracts the best people in the world. You’ll build the storytelling, channels, and experiences that ensure Halter is not just known — but understood, trusted, and chosen by exceptional talent.
