About Halter
At Halter, we’re on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly towards their next break? No quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a group of cattle walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionizing grazing with Halter. It's changing lives and transforming an industry. People join Halter to do meaningful work. By joining us you’ll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out-think, out-work and out-care. We’re committed to delivering real change in the world - this isn’t easy, and in truth, we love that it’s hard.
We’re backed to deliver on a mission that matters by Tier 1 investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab’s Peter Beck and Icehouse ventures.

Halter is scaling quickly across New Zealand, Australia, and the United States, and the way we operate internally needs to scale just as fast. As our customer base grows, so does the complexity of the systems and processes that support Sales, Launch, Support, Finance, and Operations.
A significant part of this scale comes from automation. From routing work and synchronising data between systems, to removing manual steps in day-to-day operations, automation plays a key role in helping Halter move faster without adding unnecessary operational overhead.
As a Senior Automation Specialist, you will design, build, and maintain automations that power our internal workflows. You will work across tools such as Salesforce, n8n, and other operational platforms to automate repetitive tasks, improve reliability, and ensure our teams can focus on high-value work.
This role sits close to Internal Product and Engineering and is focused on execution and continuous improvement. You will take existing manual or fragmented processes and turn them into clean, reliable, and scalable automations.
This role is about operational excellence through automation: reducing manual effort, improving data accuracy, and making our internal systems work together seamlessly.
What we’re looking for:
You think in workflows and systems. When you see a repetitive task, you naturally start thinking about how it could be automated or improved.
You have strong hands-on experience with Salesforce and automation tooling. You’re comfortable working with Salesforce Flows, APIs, integrations, and automation platforms such as n8n or similar tools.
You’re pragmatic and outcome-focused. You understand that the goal isn’t automation for its own sake, but reducing friction, improving speed, and increasing reliability for the teams who depend on these systems.
You’re comfortable working with stakeholders across Sales, Launch, Support, Finance, and Operations. You’re able to understand how work actually happens on the ground and translate that into practical automation solutions.
You pay attention to detail. Operational automations sit in critical workflows, and you take care to ensure solutions are reliable, well-tested, and maintainable.
You’re comfortable troubleshooting and iterating. Automations evolve as processes change, and you’re proactive about improving and maintaining what you build.
What you’ll be doing:
Design and build operational automations
Identify manual or repetitive workflows across internal teams
Design and implement automations using tools such as Salesforce Flows, n8n, and other integration platforms
Integrate systems to ensure data moves reliably and accurately between tools
Improve day-to-day operational efficiency
Reduce manual work across Sales, Launch, Support, and Operations workflows
Automate routine tasks such as notifications, routing, data updates, and reporting workflows
Continuously look for opportunities to simplify and streamline processes
Maintain and improve existing automations
Monitor existing automations to ensure reliability and performance
Troubleshoot issues and resolve failures quickly
Refactor and improve workflows to keep them scalable and maintainable
Partner with Product, Engineering, and RevOps
Work closely with Product Manager and Engineers to implement automation components within larger system initiatives
Collaborate with RevOps and operational teams to understand requirements and validate solutions
Ensure automation design aligns with system architecture and data models
Document and standardise automation practices
Document workflows, logic, and dependencies so automations are transparent and maintainable
Help define best practices for building and managing automations across Halter
Drive measurable operational improvements
Track the impact of automation initiatives in terms of time saved, error reduction, and process efficiency
Continuously identify opportunities to improve cost of sale and cost to serve by reducing manual effort and operational overhead
