The Role
We are looking for a Lead Industrial Product Designer to collaborate closely with our engineering team as we take our technology into production. Your key roles will be design for manufacturing (DFM), developing a cohesive design language across our products and the design of metal casting moulds. You will be a critical member of our team - producing meaningful work.
As a Lead Industrial Product Designer you will:
Design machinery components
Lead the integration of fabricated prototypes into the production pipeline
Transform engineering concepts into tangible, production-ready designs
Work in partnership with our marketing team to guarantee that every tangible embodiment of Foundry Lab works cohesively with our brand identity
About You
You must have:
8+ years experience as an Industrial Designer, with previous experience developing industrial machinery
Relevant qualification in Industrial Design
Expertise in machine design, with proven experience taking prototypes into full-scale production (DFM)
Experience working with sheet metal, fabrication and CNC machining
Proficiency with relevant tools & software (CAD software & Adobe Creative Suite)
Comprehension of the intricacies of the manufacturing process, and a passion for crafting designs tailored to this
An ability to thrive in a collaborative environment where good communication skills are essential, and initiative is highly valued.
A self-starter attitude - you feel comfortable in an environment with shifting requirements.
High attention to detail and good organisational skills.
Desirable
Experience/thorough understanding of mould design (split lines, gating, draft ect.)

This is a permanent full-time role based in our Wellington office. We are an accredited employer, and are able to support with visas and relocation requirements for successful overseas candidates.
