In the last year, we’ve grown 4x and become the go-to platform for activists and organizations working on the most pressing social justice movements of our times.

We're now hiring a Social Media Lead to help tell the stories of Chuffed organizers and keep us deeply connected to the social justice ecosystem.

🔥 About The Role

You’ll be responsible for establishing Chuffed’s social media channels as a go-to hub for movement storytelling with consistent, high-quality, campaign-centered content that grows reach, deepens engagement, and builds solidarity with frontline organizers.

You won’t just be “posting content” you’ll be amplifying frontline voices, exposing injustices to global audiences and creating digital sparks that fuel collective action.

✏️ What You’ll Do

  • Tell movement stories that spread. Turn Chuffed campaigns into moment defining content; from writing copy to cutting reels, you’ll build a powerful, consistent content rhythm that drives mass support to social justice movements at their most critical moments
  • Help shape the Chuffed voice. Define how we show up online - bold, authentic, and rooted in solidarity.
  • Create culture-shifting content. From a fast-turnaround reel on a breaking campaign, to a high-impact carousel that sparks conversation, to a video that goes viral - you’ll be the one making it happen.
  • Spotlight activists. Amplify user-generated content and regularly share/co-create organizer stories so their voices reach far beyond their immediate circles.
  • Experiment & evolve. Test formats, track performance, and constantly refine what works so our storytelling grows in reach and influence.
  • Be our ear to the ground. Stay ahead of platform shifts, content trends, and movement narratives so that our social channels always help spark action when it matters most.
  • Nurture community. Monitor social media inboxes, comments, and tags; engaging in online conversations on behalf of Chuffed, helping to create deep and trusting relationships within in the social justice community

  • You’ve built audiences at scale before. Whether for a movement, a campaign, or a mission-driven brand, you know what it takes to make content land and grow an audience.
  • You’ve got high initiative. You experiment with formats, jump on moments fast, and figure out how to make stories resonate without waiting for a perfect brief.
  • You build trust with collaborators. You amplify stories through relationships grounded in solidarity and shared purpose, ensuring it’s never extractive or transactional.
  • You’re gritty and low-ego. You don’t get precious about your content - you test, learn, and move forward.
  • You’re culture-savvy. You’re immersed in activist media and online culture, spotting trends and narrative shifts before they peak.
  • You’re data-aware. You look at what’s working, what’s not, and adjust your approach to drive greater reach and impact.
  • You thrive in ambiguity. Platforms change, narratives evolve, and urgent campaigns can erupt at any moment - you adapt and run with it.
  • You’re resourceful. You don’t wait for the perfect footage or fancy kit - you get scrappy and make content that resonates.
  • $100,000 FTE (pro-rated to ~$52,000 part-time). This is a 12 month contract. You’ll be joining Chuffed at a pivotal moment of growth. If Chuffed continues to scale at pace in North America, there is potential to stay on and play an ongoing role in shaping Chuffed’s presence in the region.
