Senior US Medical Biller

The Senior US Medical Biller will drive Carepatron’s end-to-end insurance billing operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and an exceptional client experience. While this role is initially hands-on—focusing on executing day-to-day RCM workflows—we are looking for someone with leadership experience who can help establish best practices and quickly transition into leading the billing team as our services scale.

🎯 What You’ll Do

• Execute & Optimize: Manage daily, hands-on RCM workflows including eligibility checks, charge entry, claims submissions, follow-ups, appeals, and payment posting.
• Prepare for Leadership: Act as the primary subject matter expert, laying the groundwork to quickly transition into mentoring, training, and managing the US insurance billing team as it expands.
• Embrace AI & Automation: Actively use AI tools and modern software to streamline your own daily workflows, reduce manual data entry, and build highly efficient, scalable processes for the future team.
• Product Collaboration: Partner with our product and engineering teams to refine automated workflows, claims tools, and AI-driven billing intelligence features.
• Improve Operations: Drive improvements across billing workflows to reduce denials, shorten reimbursement cycles, and enhance first-pass resolution rates.
• Troubleshoot & Support: Resolve complex billing issues and provide escalation support to our customers and internal teams.
• Track Performance: Own and report on key performance metrics, including AR aging, collections efficiency, denial rates, and payer turnaround times.
• Compliance: Ensure all daily billing operations meet HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific compliance requirements.

🧠 What You Bring

• 5+ years of US medical billing / RCM experience, with a proven track record of managing end-to-end billing cycles.
• Previous experience in a lead, supervisory, or senior role, with a strong desire to return to or step up into formal team management quickly.
• Tech-Savvy & AI Proficient: You are highly comfortable with modern technology and adapt quickly to new software. You know how to leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, automated workflows, AI assistants) to increase efficiency and solve problems.
• Deep knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, clearinghouse workflows, ERA/EOB posting, and complex claims resolution.
• Experience with behavioral health, primary care, PT/OT, or multi-specialty billing (highly valued).
• Demonstrated ability to improve billing operations through process optimization or automation.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex billing concepts to practitioners and internal teams.
• A collaborative mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
• Familiarity with Carepatron or modern EHR/RCM tools is a plus.
