Sales & Business Development
Melbourne, VIC, Australia

Posted on Oct 22, 2026
In-office/hybrid in Collingwood, Melbourne
Atticus is seeking a motivated, commercially minded Enterprise Business Development Representative to help us accelerate new-logo growth within our ICP across APAC. This is a pivotal role on our sales team within our fast-growing, profitable B2B SaaS company.
About Atticus
Atticus is a Melbourne-based scale-up founded in 2017 that offers the leading technology in document fact-checking. We are on a mission to ensure every critical document is accurate and defensible. Our software helps our customers (law firms, listed companies and funds) fact-check critical documents before they're disclosed to the market. Our users love Atticus because we save them a lot of pain in high-pressure, high-stakes work. Our mission is to bring more truth to the world of business.
We're a growing, global company. We're profitable and using our resources for growth. We're trusted by over 90% of Australian corporate law firms, 50% of the UK Top 30 law firms, 50% of the ASX 50 and 40% of the ASX 100. Plus, we're expanding into Asia and North America.
About the role
This is our first Enterprise BDR role in Australia. You'll own the top of the funnel, engaging prospects from first contact through to discovery, then handing qualified opportunities to one of our two Enterprise Account Executives, who you'll work closely with every day.
This isn't a numbers game. We solve a specialised problem for a defined set of organisations, so every piece of outreach needs to be considered and create genuine value for the person receiving it. You won't be sending mass automated sequences or making back-to-back cold calls all day. Instead, you'll prospect strategically into enterprise accounts and engage senior stakeholders, with your primary focus on booking virtual and face-to-face meetings for our Enterprise AEs.
Events are also a big part of how we build relationships, so you'll play a key role in bringing prospects into our private, Atticus-hosted events, from intimate roundtables to community lunches.
You’ll also help shape where Atticus goes next. Working with our Head of Growth, you’ll open early conversations with organisations beyond our current ICP, testing new segments and helping us expand the market we serve.
You'll be a self-starter who works effectively without needing to be told exactly what to do, with plenty of guidance and support from our AEs and the wider team.
What a typical week might look like
You’ll be accountable for delivering real value.
Where this leads
We're building something significant. As we expand our ICP and TAM and the business continues to grow, this role offers a natural career path to a Senior BDR or Account Executive for someone who combines sales excellence with structured thinking and a long-term view.
How we work
We want creative, curious and self-driven people interested in building something of lasting value. The people who thrive at Atticus are conscientious problem solvers who are:

What a typical week might look like
You’ll be accountable for delivering real value.
- Pipeline generation: Research, identify and prioritise high-potential prospects within our ICP. With guidance, you'll build a structured, insight-led outreach approach across calls, email and LinkedIn that focuses on fit over volume. Your target will centre on booking qualified meetings for our AEs: meetings with the right stakeholders, where there's genuine pain and a real chance to convert.
- Account strategy: Work with our Enterprise AEs on account planning, outreach, multi-threading and breaking into existing/new ICP accounts.
- Market expansion: Partner with our Head of Growth to open early conversations with organisations outside our current ICP, testing where Atticus can win next and helping us expand our addressable market.
- Events: Partner with Brand to fill seats at our private, Atticus-hosted events, from intimate roundtables to community lunches.
- Sales enablement: Collaborate with Brand on collateral and resources that support the wider sales team and help you prospect and build pipeline.
- Commercial thinking: Contribute to messaging, positioning and lead generation strategy. Your observations from the front line will directly inform how we go to market.
- Pipeline rigour: Track and report on key metrics, such as meetings booked, with the analytical discipline to identify what's working and why.
- Creative and flexible. We're a small team doing things nobody has done before, so you'll be excited about tackling unknown problems, wearing multiple hats and pitching in even when you don't know exactly what you're doing.
- Natural communicators. Communication is a first-class skill, so we take it seriously. More than good spelling and grammar, you're great at building relationships and getting things done with others, whether through Slack, Zoom or in person.
- Measure twice, cut once. We believe long-term velocity and agility come from planning enough that you can move fast without breaking things. "Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast."
- Biased toward action. When in doubt, you try something and see if it works. Doing the right thing is best, but doing the not-quite-right thing and learning from it is better than doing nothing.
- Outcome-focused. You don't confuse a great slide deck for genuine user outcomes. If you're blocked on the process you expected to take, you find other ways to get the outcome.
What you'll bring
- At least 1 year of experience as a BDR, or 2 years in GTM/consulting
- Strong communication skills and confidence approaching people by email, phone and face to face
- Experience that shows you can make connections, build rapport, nurture relationships and book meetings
- Resilience working towards ambitious team targets and KPIs
- A proactive, flexible approach: as our first BDR in Australia, you’ll help shape the role, processes and playbook as we go, so you’re comfortable with ambiguity and excited to build something from the ground up
Nice to have
- Experience working in or with listed companies or financial services providers, particularly with legal, finance, sustainability, investor relations or marketing teams
- BDR experience selling into enterprise accounts
Benefits
- 95k-115k OTE (85-105k Base), dependent on experience and ability
- Hybrid: a minimum of 2–3 days a week in the office
- Flexible work hours (we care about outcomes, so go for that lunchtime swim)
- $2,000 home office setup budget
- Five weeks' leave each year (and never work on your birthday)
- Dog friendly office in Collingwood, Melbourne
- Generous professional development budget
